The Cheese Store of Silverlake was opened in 2003 by Chris Pollan. Chris was a pioneer in the fine food market in Los Angeles and evolved into a Silverlake legend. He ran the store until his passing in early 2015 whereupon his wife, Alane Pollan, took full ownership. Alane and a knowledgeable and friendly staff of cheesemongers now continue to keep Chris’s culinary passion and memory alive.
The Cheese Store of Silverlake offers quality artisanal food from both America and Europe, curating the best selection of cheese, wine, olive oil, vinegar, jam, chocolate and more. We offer a selection of around 300 cheeses that rotate based on availability and seasonality.
Cheese and wine/beer classes are offered on a monthly basis. These classes inform participants about specific styles of cheese, regions from where cheeses are produced, and how they may be paired with wine, beer and accoutrements.
